26 June 2009, Friday
I went shopping today, and I think you know what happened from there...
I treated myself. You know, last day of exams, start of break (kinda... if you call working a break!).
And I overdosed.
There was nothing to buy. Yet how did I manage to buy all those books, I couldn't tell you.
I have always been interested in Fury's story since I read Night Play by Sherrilyn Kenyon. So my only intention had been to grab Sherrilyn Kenyon's new anthology (if it was available) and then just browse around for the sheer enjoyment of browsing a book store. The book was there - but so were many others!
After a bit of indecision, I decided to also get Loretta Chase's The Last Hellion because Lord of Scoundrels was really good and her writing style is absolutely hilarious - do I sound like I'm desperately making excuses for my purchases? Then I laid eyes on Elizabeth Hoyt's newest books. I haven't read any of "The Four Soldiers" series yet, but I have read her last Raven, Leopard, and Serpent Prince books, which I found to be well written so I though I'd give one of her newer books a try. To Beguile a Beast looked and sounded most interesting (because I love love love Beauty and the Beast stories) and the cover was gorgeous. Yum! I hope it lives up to my expectations.
Then I went to another book store. Usually I don't buy much here because the selection is very small and limited. But I laid eyes on Vicki Lewis Thompsom "Nerd" books! Gosh, I had heard of these for so long and I had been wanting to get my hands on them so of course I couldn't pass up on such a good chance.I swiped the last three on the shelf, but put one back since my awful conscience got the best of me - I had spent way too much =D
